history

ZEROPIU was founded in 1994 as a company specializing in IT, doing system engineer activities for the earliest Italian internet providers (Athena 2000, Czech OnLine, ITnet and the first experiences Infostrada, just to name a few) to build the necessary technological infrastructure as well developing applications, including Web sites and portals, which took advantage of these new network technologies.

ZEROPIU identified, from the very first lines, the need to combine the communications revolution with a revolution in information security, working on important integration between corporate networks and the more and more widespread Internet.

In its history the company has gradually addressed the different levels of security: from the first project dedicated to the perimeter security of large infrastructures to the application and data security and also to the management of electronic identities. In this regard ZEROPIU, already in '96, realized innovative projects in the access control area, according to and sometimes anticipating, the market IT security needs.

With the development of the World Wide Web came the first requirements of centralized access control and single sign on infrastructures, especially in those projects dedicated to systems integration and interoperability of the internet / intranet applications. It dates back to 1999, the partnership agreement at European level with Netegrity (acquired by Computer Associates in 2004) which many projects based on SiteMinder technology were realized with, at that time the undisputed leader for Web access control solutions.

The technological evolution, unstoppable in the early twenty-first century, has brought the focus on access to business applications (now mainly accessible via web interface), on the relationship between different access grant to applications and business roles and their whole management.
Also in this area ZEROPIU has been at the forefront, implementing Identity Management, User Provisioning and Role Management projects and custom solutions.

It is known that information technology is evolving rapidly and the world of security is among those with the greatest speed. ZEROPIU continuously strives to improve the safety of the data itself, the true value of the information society, in the different areas where this can be achieved.

ZEROPIU uses a quality management system in keeping with the standard ISO 9001:2008.
Since 2003 ZEROPIU has been certified by SGS for research, development and commissioning of customized software solutions and in 2011 certified its Services division.

This last certification is an intermediate step of a process finalized to the adoption of the standard ISO 20000:2005 which meets the ITIL best practices for the Services.

The company is also accredited, by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), as a "research laboratory" for the design and development of infrastructure and applicative software solutions which have special aspects of technological innovation.

It dates back to 1999 the agreement with Netegrity (acquired by CA in 2004) and the experiences with SiteMinder, the path that led ZEROPIU to be today a Gold Solution Partner for CA Technologies security solutions.
Since 2000 ZEROPIU has been an Oracle Partner and since 2007 has been granted Oracle Alliance Partner. Starting from 2007, ZEROPIU has been an active member of the Oracle Community for Security, the Oracle Partner network focused on IT security and since 2011 ZEROPIU has been a Specialized Partner for Identity Management.
Since 2011 ZEROPIU has been an HP partner specialized on Tipping Point intrusion prevention solutions, taking up a strong relationship with the group started in 2000.
Since 2011 ZEROPIU has been a partner of CrossingTech and uses its Business Process Monitoring product for security solutions and in the context of other projects as well.
Since 2010 ZEROPIU has been a partner of ForgeRock for opensource Identity&Access Management solutions.
